"New installation" means that the CF card is deleted and the system

The subsystems NC, PLC and DRV are overall reset and default data

In the "Upgrade" mode, the NC, PLC and DRV data is migrated im‐
mediately after installing the new CNC software, i.e. before the step
is executed.

Data migration means that the backed-up archive is imported from
the old to the new installed software version.
Step execution will be performed later based on the archive data of
the newly installed software version.
Yes Setting for the mode can be disabled for the operation sequence.

tgz files that contain the CNC software are provided by Siemens Support and can be
inserted as copy or link in a list.
Linked files are not taken into this list until the package is deployed.
A file can be preselected from the list.
If no file is preselected, the operator must make the selection on the machine.
With the specification of './<Path>/<File>', a file next to the package can be preselec‐
ted. For example, ./std31a10c_hmi.tgz is then in the preselection.
