3. Remove the pivot bolt and washer.
4. Separate the sidestand from the bracket. Do not
lose the collar from the bracket boss.
5. Installation is the reverse of removal. Note the
following:
a. Apply a light coat of lithium soap grease to
the pivot surfaces of mounting bracket and
sidestand.
b. Make sure the collar is in place in the bracket
boss.
c. Install a new self-locking nut and torque the
nut to the 56 N•m (41 ft.-lb.).

is installed on XVS1100A models.
1. On XVS1100 models, remove the front wheel as
described in Chapter Ten.
2. Remove the front fender bolts (Figure 29) from
the inside of the fender and remove the fender from
between the front fork legs. On XVS1100A models,
watch for the reflector bracket that sits between the
fender and fork leg boss.
3. Installation is the reverse of removal.
a. On XVS1100A models, install the reflector
bracket between the fender and the fork leg.
