Cleaning the Glass Rails

Introduction
To maintain optimal printer performance it is important to remove dust or other contaminants
that may collect on the glass surfaces.
Equipment
• Isopropyl alcohol (IPA)
• Cloth-Poly Wipe 10cm x 10cm (lint-free)
When to do
Clean the rails and bearings at least once a month, or as needed.
Procedure
1. Wet a clean lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol.
2. Clean all accessible glass surfaces. Wait for surfaces to dry (approximately 1 minute).
3. Go to the Tools and Utilities tab on the user interface. Select Move Carriage. This will move the
carriage to the Maintenance Position and allow access to the section of glass rails that are
covered by the carriage when it is in its park position.
4. Clean remaining surfaces of glass. Wait for surfaces to dry (approx. 1 minute).
5. Select Move Carriage again to return the carriage to its Park position.
