Procedure
1.
Put a container under the oil valve (51) to collect
oil-spills.
2.
Connect the end of a hose to a nipple, and then connect the nipple to the oil valve (51) on the flange.
3.
Take the oil sample:
1.
Open (b) the oil valve (51).
2.
Drain a small amount of the transformer oil.
3.
Close (a) the oil valve (51).
4.
Check the oil-level. If the oil-level is low, refer to
Checking the oil-level, page 61.

CAUTION!
If transformer oil spills, clean the are
immediately. A wet surface is
dangerous and can cause you to fall.
NOTE!
The thread on the oil valve is (R ½") BSPT ½".
CAUTION!
The oil-level must be above the red
area (29).
NOTE!
It is generally not necessary to fill the
bushing with oil after an oil sample is
taken. But it can be necessary to fill the
bushing with oil when many oil
samples have been taken (3000 ml).
