There are three files deployed in the OXO Connect:
•
A migration deployment file (bin8088s)
•
The patch upgrade file (dat8088s)
•
A binary file, including ALEapps (noe8088s)
The Android software package can be stored either on an HTTP server or the Cloud if the set has an
internet access:
•
The upgrade URL must be configured in OMC: Generic Parameters for IP Phones > 8088 Smart
DeskPhone > Android Upgrade URL
•
If the Cloud is used and a proxy is required for internet access, the proxy settings must be
configured on the set:
1. From the set home page, press the Settings menu
2. Press Admin and enter the administrator password
3. Go to: Network > Proxy
4. Enter the proxy name and port
The software package consists of:
•
A RPM file (8088_bin_<version>.rpm) including the Android binary
•
A zip file (8088_ota_<version>.zip) including the Android upgrade patch
It is also possible to configure the frequency of upgrade to the latest available version in OMC: Generic
Parameters for IP Phones > 8088 Smart DeskPhone > Auto Upgrade Interval

-1: auto upgrade is not allowed
•
0: auto upgrade is allowed only at phone startup
•
>0: depending on the value given, for every given number of days, the set checks for updates in the
server and for upgrades at phone startup
8.4.5 Activating the WebView feature on sets (access to a website)
The 8088 Smart DeskPhone sets running in NOE mode support the WebView feature. This feature
allows users to display a website such as an intranet page or a private store on their sets. Via the
private store, users can download and install Android applications.
The WebView feature requires to:

Enter the website URL in the PCX settings:
1. In OMC, select System Miscellaneous > Generic parameters for IP Phones > 8088 Smart
DeskPhone tab
2. In the Private Store URL parameter, enter the URL of the target website, starting with HTTP or
HTTPS (for example: http://www.ale-interprise.com) and click OK

Configure the private store, if the website URL addresses a private store. For more information,
refer to:
