2 Overview

2.2 Navigator 540 transmitter

The Navigator 540 transmitter is designed for continuous monitoring and control of power station boiler feed water / steam
condensate and must be used in conjunction with an associated ABB wet-section to measure levels of low level dissolved oxygen /
sodium / hydrazine. Wet-sections are parameter-specific.
Information from the wet-section is sent to the transmitter via a communication board, where the process reading is displayed on the
main page and can be displayed as a graph in the Chart View – refer to Section 6.7, page 33 for details of view options.
Diagnostic messages inform the user of the analyzer status and can be logged for review. The analyzer status can also be assessed
remotely using programmable alarms, current output diagnostic functions, using optional Ethernet communications.
The transmitter has a multiple wet-section capability which enables it to control and display information from up to 4 wet-sections
(excludes multi-stream wet-sections). Section 3.3, page 13 shows an example of the multiple wet-section set up.
