Backplane replacement

Use this information to remove and install a hot-swap-drive backplane.
This topic contains the following information:

Remove the 2.5-inch-drive backplane

Use this information to remove the 2.5-inch-drive backplane.
Before removing the 2.5-inch-drive backplane:
1. Remove the top cover. See "Remove the top cover" on page 103.
2. Remove the system fan cage for easier operation. See "Remove the system fan cage" on page 116.
3. Remove all the installed drives and fillers (if any) from the drive bays. See "Remove a hot-swap drive" on
page 120.
To remove the 2.5-inch-drive backplane, complete the following steps:

Step 1.
Lift the release tabs and rotate the backplane backward slightly to release it from the two pins on
the chassis.
