2. Browse to a new configuration file from the appearing dialog.
3. Select the file and click Open.
4. Select the device to import from the drop-down list. You can preview the configur-
ation on the right.
5. Click Import.
The new preconfigured objects appear in the object tree. If the configuration file is large
the import can take time. To import a configuration file for a different device, right-click
the device, select SCL Import again and repeat the steps.

SCL Import function

You can import the communication structure under OPC Server or a single IED object.
If an OPC Server configuration file is used, the whole communication structure is
imported. Configurations for single IEDs can be imported by selecting the SCL Import
function under an IED object.
The file extensions for the import files can be .icd, .cid, .iid, .scd, .sed, or .xml.
To import a configuration file:
1. Right-click the OPC Server or IED and select SCL Import from the shortcut menu.

2. Click Select File.
3. Browse for a new configuration file from the opening dialog.
