COM600 series, version 4.1
User's Manual
Built-in user accounts
The following user account is predefined in the COM600 computer:
Username: COM600
Password: aEc2006rs
This is the main account of the COM600 computer. It is used for configuration purposes.
Processes of the COM600 computer are run under this account. It will also work as an
HMI user account and has in that context HMI administrator user rights.
Connecting configuration computer with SAB600 to COM600 computer
With COM600 version 3.4 or newer the COM600 user is not
anymore required in the SAB600 computer. Also the commu-
nication between SAB600 and COM600 computer is now
based on .NET remoting, which uses fewer ports to enable
easier access through firewalls.
For improved security, disable access from SAB600 to COM600 after the configuration
work is finished by disabling the port used by SAB600 in COM600 firewall exception
settings, or by disabling the remoting service in the COM600 computer (if firewall is
not used).
To disable access using firewall configuration:
1. Select Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Advanced settings -> Inbound
Rules.
2. Double-click SAB600 on the list and change the Action property to Block the
connection.
To disable access by disabling the remoting service:
1. Select Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> ABB COM600
Remoting Server.
2. Right-click and select Properties.
3. Stop the service and change the startup type to Disabled.
Alternatively, the remoting service can also be dis-
abled/enabled from the Web HMI. This is done from Commu-
nication – Security Settings – Configuration service. If the
COM600 product variant is using other configuration services
in addition to ABB COM600 Remoting Server, this option
will disable/enable these as well.
To configure the network settings:
1. Configure the network settings of the configuration computer and the COM600
computer to allow them to communicate with each other. This is done by configuring
