parameter was set to 2. This means that the filter is back flushed twice with compressed air prior to the Sample
Flush and prior to each measurement repetition. The duration of each pulse is 0.5 sec., and multiple pulses are
separated by 2.0 seconds. Depending upon the composition of the sample stream, the number of pulses can be
set to any value between 0 and 10.
N
:
The number of pulses required is highly dependent on the composition of the sample water. Use
OTE
the fewest Blowback Pulses for your particular sample water that produces a reliable flow of
filtered water to the Analyzer.
The Blowback Delay establishes a delay time between the last pulse and the start of sampling of the filtered
water by the Analyzer. This delay is evident before the Sample Flush and before sampling begins for the first
repetition. It also exists before sampling begins for the subsequent repetitions, but it is less evident because the
Analyzer is completing repetition 1 while it is preparing the sample to be used in repetition 2.
To set up operation of the Filter Panel
1.
Confirm that sample water is flowing through the Filter Panel (See the Filter Panel Operations and
Maintenance Manual.)
2.
Confirm that the filtered water tube is connected to the Filter Panel and to the Analyzer. The tube should
be connected either to the Inlet port of the sample cup, or to the Inlet port on the optional peristaltic
sample pump.
3.
Confirm that the signal air tube is connected to the Filter Panel and to the appropriate port on the left
side of the Analyzer, marked Air to Filter Panel. If the Filter Panel is filtering Stream 1, the signal air tube
should be inserted in Air to Filter Panel port 1.
4.
Confirm that compressed air is connected to the Blowback Air port on the Filter Panel.
5.
If the Analyzer is making measurements, stop the analysis.
