6. Gently slide the primary filter out of the air cleaner
body and discard it (Figure 19). Avoid knocking the
filter into the side of the body.
7. If you are also replacing the safety filter, gently slide it
out of the air cleaner body and discard it (Figure 19)..
Avoid knocking the filter into the side of the body.
Important: Never clean either filter element in
any way. Cleaning it may damage it, allowing
contaminants into the engine. Replace the elements
if they are dirty or damaged.
Installing the Filters
1. Check each filter for shipping damage, especially to
the sealing end.
Important: Do not use a damaged filter.
2. If you are replacing the safety filter, carefully slide it
into the air cleaner body (Figure 19).. Ensure that it
is fully seated by pushing firmly on the outer rim of
the filter while installing it.
3. Carefully slide the primary filter into the air cleaner
body (Figure 19).. Ensure that it is fully seated by
pushing firmly on the outer rim of the filter while
installing it.
Important: Do not press on the soft inside area
of the filter.
4. Install the cover, spacer and secure it with the cover
nut (Figure 19). Torque the nut to 95 inch-lb (11
N-m).
5. Install the air cleaner cover with the rubber outlet
pointing down in a 5:00 to 7:00 position (viewed
from the end)(Figure 19) and secure it with the
latches..
Changing the Engine Oil and
Filter
Service Interval: After the first 50 hours
Every 100 hours (Service more
frequently if conditions are extremely
dusty or sandy.)
Oil Type: Detergent oil (API service SG, SH, SJ, or
higher)
Crankcase Capacity: w/filter, 2.1 qt. (2 l)
Viscosity: See table below
1. Start the engine and let it run for five minutes. This
warms the oil so it drains better.
2. Park the traction unit so that the drain side is slightly
lower than the opposite side to ensure that the oil
drains completely.
3. Lower the loader arms, chock the wheels, stop the
engine, and remove the key.
Components will be hot if the traction unit has
been running. If you touch hot components you
may be burned.
Allow the traction unit to cool before performing
maintenance or touching components under
the hood.
4. Place one end of a hose on the drain valve and the
other end in a pan (Figure 21).
