Definitions: Safety Alert Symbols and Words
This instruction manual uses the following safety alert symbols and words to alert you to hazardous situations
and your risk of personal injury or property damage.
DANGER: Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided,could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate
injury. (Used without word) Indicates a safety related message.
NOTICE: Indicates a practice not related to personal injury which, if not avoided, may result in property damage.

1. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following: READ
ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE.
WARNING: Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions listed
below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, do not permit children to use or climb on this product.
WARNING: Improper installation will create an electric hazard which could result in death or serious injury to
pool users, installers, or others due to electrical shock, and may also cause damage to property.
WARNING: Risk of Electric Shock.
1. This pump is for use with 115Vrms nominal, and for pool pump applications ONLY. Connection to the wrong
voltage, or use in other application may cause damage to equipment or personal injury.
2. Always disconnect power to the pool pump at the circuit breaker before servicing the pump. Failure to do so could
result in death or serious injury to serviceman, pool users, or others due to electric shock.
3. All electrical wiring MUST be in conformance with all applicable local codes, regulations, and the National Electric
Code® (NEC®).
4. In accordance with the National Electric Code® (NEC®), this unit must be connected only to a supply circuit that is
protected by a ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI).
5. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, replace any damaged cord immediately.
