Clean the Scanner and Rollers

A spot of dirt or correction fluid on the glass strip may cause poor quality scans. Clean the scanner and rollers if
a vertical line appears in the scanned data or if areas are missing in the scanned data.

1. Press and hold
2. Remove the ADF.
3. Press the release tab to open the Front Cover.
4. From the back of the machine, clean the glass strips (1) in the ADF unit with a soft lint-free cloth. Make sure
that both glass strips are clean.
(ADS-4700W) If the glass strips are dirty and the [Dust Detection] function is On, a maintenance
message appears on the LCD. Tap the message to confirm where there may be dust or dirt on the glass
strips, and then clean those areas.
