Connect the transmitter unit connector J3 to the BT100AVS or AVtriple IN
connection with the 2249-C-24 coaxial cable and the short adaptor cable supplied
with the BT100AVS or AVtriple.
(f)
Set the switch on the power supply to ON.
(2)
Start the BT100AVS or AVtriple program. If you need to keep a file for records, note the
pending file name and change it as necessary.
(3)
Set the switch on the transmitter unit to TX.
(4)
After five to ten seconds, activate the receive function on the BT100AVS or AVtriple.
(5)
You must hear a downward swept tone in seconds for two or three seconds. Let the
BT100AVS or AVtriple continue to monitor the signal until it receives a 406 MHz
transmission burst.
(6)
Set the switches on the transmitter unit and the power supply to OFF.
(7)
Read the Decode to verify that it is the same as the HEX ID as follows:
(a)
If the transmitter has been removed from an aircraft installation with no AIM or
NAIM attached, then the 15-HEX code shall be as shown on the transmitter unit
label and the total message shall be the 112-bit format.
(b)
If the transmitter unit has been removed from an aircraft installation with a
programmed AIM, then the 15-HEX code shall be as shown on the AIM unit label
and the total message shall be the 112-bit format.
(c)
If the transmitter unit has been removed from an aircraft installation with an AIM
programmed with the NULL message protocol and a 24-bit DIP switch module
with a valid 24-bit aircraft address connected to the AIM, then the 15-HEX code
message shall be according to the dip switch message, and the total message
shall be the 112-bit format.
(d)
If the transmitter unit has been removed from an aircraft installation with a NAIM
attached, and the NAIM is programmed with the NULL message protocol, then the
decoded message shall have the protocol shown on the NAIM label and the 24-bit
aircraft address shall be in accordance to the 24-bit DIP switch module attached
to the NAIM. The total message shall be the 144-bit format. The location
(longitude/latitude) will be the last location loaded into the transmitter unit before
removal from the cockpit (refer to NOTE).
(e)
If the transmitter unit has been removed from an aircraft installation with a NAIM
attached, and the NAIM is programmed with a valid User Location or Standard
Location Format, then the decoded message shall be in accordance with the
protocol and the 15-HEX message shown on the NAIM programming label (refer
to NOTE).
NOTE 1: The 15-HEX code presumes that the transmitter unit was pre-loaded with
