B. The BMP may be used to program the transmitter unit or the AIM or the NAIM (if the optional AIM
or NAIM is part of the system). If there is no optional AIM or NAIM as part of the system, the BMP
can be connected directly to the connector on the back of the transmitter unit using the transmitter
unit BMP programming cable. If the AIM or the NAIM is part of the system, the AIM or the NAIM
can be programmed by the BMP using the AIM or the NAIM programming cables. The AIM or the
NAIM then automatically programs the transmitter unit when the next self-test is performed with
the AIM or the NAIM attached to the transmitter unit. Figure 3 shows a system block diagram of
the BMP system.
C. For detailed instructions on programming the transmitter unit, the AIM or the NAIM, refer to the
BMP Programming Manual 6C-569.
D. For detailed instructions on how to operate the ARINC 429 simulator application software for use
in testing, refer to ARINC User Manual for Testing RESCU 406AFN 6C-570.

System Configuration (Refer to Figure 5)
A. The RESCU 406AFN consists of the following major components:
(1)
Transmitter Unit, P/N 1152682-2
(2)
Antenna, using one of the following:
(a)
(b)
(c)
(3)
NAV Aircraft Identification Module (NAIM), P/N 1153396-1 (Optional)
(4)
Aircraft Identification Module (AIM), P/N 1152780-1 (Optional)
(5)

coax cable that connects the two components. This basic system can be upgraded at any time to
include the Aircraft Identification Module (AIM) or the NAV Aircraft Identification Module (NAIM),
remote panel, remote audible alarm panel and various other devices that will adapt the system to
suit customer requirements.
C. Some of the sample configurations that can be installed are shown in Figure 5. In sample
