6.4 Modbus Bus Interface Board (BIB) Installation

The optional Modbus Bus Interface Board (BIB) is required to use Modbus communications. Normally the BIB is factory
installed, but it can be fitted or replaced in the field by an authorised Honeywell Field Engineer.
TPPR is supplied with Modbus software pre-installed.

How to Install the Bus Interface Board
The equipment specified in this manual is only to be installed by the Manufacturer's trained personnel, or by
competent persons trained in accordance with the Manufacturer's installation instructions.

To fit the Bus Interface Board:
1.
Power off and isolate the mains supply and backup batteries and any mains-switching relays.
2.
Open the Controller enclosure to access the controller cover panel (see figure on next page).
3.
Remove any USB devices and SD Cards.
4.
See Warning at the top of the cover and disconnect all conflicting cables (i.e. TB8 & TB9).
5.
Remove the two M4 locknut screws at the top and one at the side of the cover.
6.
Carefully slide the cover off.
7.
Locate the four Bus Interface Board (BIB) stand-off pillars to the right side of the Control Module motherboard).
8.
Observing the correct orientation, align the connectors and gently push them into place.
9.
Secure the Bus Interface Board using the supplied screws and washers.
10. Carefully slide the cover back into place and refit / tighten the M4 locknuts.
11. Re-connect all cables.
12. Refit the SD Card and optional USB devices.
13. Switch on the batteries and Mains power.
14. Wait for the system to initialize and check/test that everything is working correctly.
