9.6.1
C&E Matrix Explanation
The 'ID/Location' column shows the channels selected in the previous pre-selection screen. If an output is controlled by a
single input channel, only one row is shown.
The events that may be selected for each input are shown alongside. Any combination of events may be selected. Any of
the selected events will cause the output to activate.
The total number of selected input channels is shown at the bottom of the screen. If an input was selected at pre-selection,
but no events are programmed for it, the input is discarded when the configuration is saved.
The At least One Alarm and Vote Count controls are described in the following sub-chapters.
Note: To remove an unwanted input channel from the cause and effect matrix, for instance from a copied channel, uncheck
all the events for that input channel.
9.6.2
STEL, LTEL and Rate Alarms
When an input channel is used for time weighted alarms it is linked to the AL1, AL2 and AL3 events column:
AL1 is used for STEL
AL2 is used for LTEL
AL3 is used for Rate Alarm
The cause and effect matrix is evaluated in the same way as for threshold alarms.
9.6.3
Multiple Inputs
An output may be associated with one or more events per input channel in the cause and effect matrix. When more than one
event is associated, voting is used to determine how the output responds to the selected event combination.
9.6.4
Voting
Voting allows a user to select how many input channels must have an active event before an output will change state.
