3.7 Outlet valve

Function of the Outlet valve

The Outlet valve is used to direct the flow to the fraction collector, to an outlet port, or

to waste. The Outlet valve enables collection of fractions. Fractions can be collected by

using a fraction collector connected to the Outlet valve, or by using the 10 outlet ports.

Usage of the outlet ports can be convenient when, for example, a limited number of

large fractions is to be collected. If no fraction collection is needed, the Outlet valve can

be set to direct the flow to waste.

of the valve. In ÄKTA avant 25, the Outlet valve is labelled V9-O. In ÄKTA avant 150, the

Outlet valve is labelled V9H-O.
