The forwarding proxy is selected in this order: the EB or SD card that is not in normal mode, the SD or
EB card in normal mode, and the SC card. When the forwarding proxy LPU is removed, the switch selects
a new one in this order. If a newly inserted LPU has higher priority than the LPU that is working as the
forwarding proxy, the new LPU takes over.

Syntax
sysname sysname

Parameters
sysname: Device name of the switch, a string of 1 to 30 characters.
Description
Use the sysname command to change the device name.
Use the undo sysname demand to restore the default device name.
The default device name is HP.
A device name identifies a device in a network and works as the user view prompt at the CLI. For
example, if the device name is Sysname, the user view prompt is <Sysname>.
Examples
# Set the device name to S2000.
<Sysname> system-view
[Sysname] sysname S2000
[S2000]
