6-1 Laser Power Monitoring Details

6-1-1 Overview of laser power monitoring

This is the function to measure the laser power in watt during the lasing operation automatically and output the results by
the serial communication data.
With the setting of warning threshold of laser power or laser energy, POWER WARNING OUT (Y11) on I/O terminal turns
on when the measured value is out of the threshold.
„ Power data monitoring procedures
Connecting of RS-232C for power data
Refer to "6-2-1 RS-232C connector for power monitoring" (P.130).
Communication condition setting
Refer to "6-2-2 Communication conditions for power monitoring" (P.131).
Turn ON key switch of laser welding machine controller
Threshold setting of laser energy or laser power at lasing (when POWER WARNING OUT (Y11) is used)
Set the threshold based on the actual power and energy measured at test lasing with each file. Refer to Operation
Manual.
Output mode setting by command
Set the output mode every time after powered up of the laser welding machine.
Refer to "6-2-4 Communication data format" (P.134).
Laser radiation
Laser power output with serial communication data
Refer to "Response data for laser power" (P.137).
Completion of laser radiation
Laser energy output with serial communication data
Refer to "Response data for laser energy" (P.138).
