To execute a program on an application server via DB Connection Service.
To monitor values such as a time or device tag component, and start a job when a trigger condition
changes from false to true (the condition is satisfied).
To control job execution such as the availability of job execution depending on the number of jobs that
can be executed at the same time.
To buffer information required for job execution in a trigger buffer as trigger information.
To execute any job at any timing.
To perform the substitution
device tag component value.
Data assignment
function
To check the communication setting between an MES interface module and an access target device or
access target server.
To access a database according to a request from MES Interface Function Configuration Tool and
acquire a DB table name, DB field name, data type of a DB field, stored procedure name, and argument
information of a stored procedure.
To enable job-related operations and job information acquisition from an REST client.
In addition, the XML processing function of a MELSEC-Q series MES interface module is supported.
To prevent illegal access to an MES interface module by setting a user name and password.
To format an SD memory card.
To diagnose whether an MES interface module operates normally.
To replace a module with another without stopping a running system. For the procedure, refer to the
following:
MELSEC iQ-R Online Module Change Manual

To update the firmware of an MES interface module.
For details, refer to the following:
MELSEC iQ-R Module Configuration Manual
*2
To initialize a firmware update-prohibited password retained in an MES interface module.
To read data in the device memory.
Data used for trigger judgment is read, and then data used for job is read.
To write data written to a device tag in a job to the device memory.
To read/write data in the database of the host information system.
To buffer data sent to the database and resend it after recovery when the
data cannot be linked due to the disconnection of the network between an
MES interface module and the database or failure of the database, etc.
To read/write data of a system variable storing the operating status of a
module such as the status of an MES interface module.
To read/write data from/to a user variable (local variable/global variable)
which can be registered arbitrarily.
• Local variables: Available in a same job
• Global variables: Available between jobs

To assign and link a device tag, DB data, and a variable which are read by
using the data input/output function.
