The service technician can program the control module so that messages for
the operator will appear in the display after a set period of time. These
messages will appear at switch-on and advise the operator of necessary
upcoming maintenance. The Delete display information function allows the
service technician to reset these messages in service mode. This reset is in
effect until the set period of time is up as monitored by the control module.
After this, the messages will again be displayed for the operator.

Backup
1
Back up data for EW
2
Back up data for ELP
3
Operating data for ELP

Table 100-42: Backup

The control saves certain data in the EW 235 (selection/display module) and
on the flash card in the ELP 235 (control/power electronic), including:
- User settings, e.g., display standby function
- Mapping/allocation between the EW 235 and ELP 235, e.g., machine-type
coding
- System components, such as signed-on modules
- Basic service settings
- Operating data
Saving data in two different locations improves security for the entire control
module. After an electronics fault (ELP 235 or EW 235) or a firmware update
(flash), at which point part of the control software must be overwritten, the
backup application writes the saved data to the restored electronic and
calibrates it. This synchronizes all of the electronics assemblies.
After a fault has been remedied or one or both electronic modules (ELP
235 and/or EW 235) has been replaced, the service technician can perform a
data backup, assuming, of course, that once valid data has been written to
the restored electronic, it should be saved to the other electronic as well.
Save and quit:
1. Press the Save button (under the disk symbol).
2. Switch the machine off to quit the service mode.
Quit (without saving):
1. Switch the machine off to quit the service mode.
