Cause
Waveform not selected on the screen
Module not plugged in correctly
Poor electrode or poor electrode skin
contact
Poor electrode condition
Improper site of electrodes
Improper skin preparation
Faulty/ dirty ECG cable.
Respiration signal is very small
Respiration source is CO
What to do
Press the Monitor Setup key and make
adjustments.
Re-plug the module.
Electrodes from different
manufacturers are used. Too
much/little gel is used.
Electrodes are dried out.
Check that electrodes are not placed
over bones, active muscles, or layers of
fat.
Remove body hair. Clean attachment
site carefully with alcohol.
Change new cable.
With 3-lead cable try another lead
connection I, II, III or try 5-lead cable.
Check respiration source and change it

to correct one.
