Playing Step Sequencer Patterns - Yamaha AN1x Owner's Manual

Since the trig g ered Vo ice and User Patterns are
selected and played fro m edit buffers, yo u can edit any
pattern at will— i.e., yo u can trig g er o ne pattern and
edit it, trig g er a seco nd pattern and edit it, g o back to
the first o ne and tweak it so me mo re, and so o n, in
o rder to edit vario us patterns in co ntext with each
o ther.
If yo u want, yo u can use SEQ Sto re [UP/ DO W N ] to
sto re any edited pattern to any User Pattern bank
memo ry (1 - 1 2 8 ). If the User Pattern has been edited,
the " All Ptn" (All Patterns) sto re co nfirmatio n messag e
will appear in the L CD, and yo u can press
[YES/ EN TER] to o verwrite all patterns, o r press [N O ]
to cancel the o peratio n.
C# 1 Assign
C# 1 is always the base no te assig nment fo r the first User
Pattern to be selected. As sho wn in the Pattern Select Play
diag ram (pag e 3 9 ), if " Usr0 0 1 " (User 0 0 1 ) is assig ned to
C# 1 , then pressing C# 1 selects User Pattern 0 0 1 , pressing
D1 selects Pattern 0 0 2 , pressing D# 1 selects Pattern 0 0 3 ,
and so o n. The User Patterns are always selected in
ascending o rder acco rding to pattern number (0 0 1 - 1 2 8 ).
The C# 1 Assig n feature lets yo u " shift" the starting pattern
number. Fo r example, if yo u assig n " Usr0 0 3 " to C# 1 , then
pressing C# 1 selects User Pattern 0 0 3 , pressing D1 selects
Pattern 0 0 4 , pressing D# 1 selects Pattern 0 0 5 , and so o n.
T o assig n a User Pattern number to C# 1 , set the [EDIT
RO T ARY] switch to VO ICE ARPEG G IO / SEQ and press
T ype/ N o [UP/ DO W N ]. Arp SEQ must be set to " Step SEQ " ,
and KbdMo de must be set to " sel&no rm" o r " sel&shift" . (See
pag e 8 5 .)

to SEQ EDIT/ SETUP and press Bank [UP/ DO W N ].
During Sing le Pattern Play, either the Vo ice o r User
Pattern bank can be selected. During Pattern Select
Play, o nly the User Pattern bank can be selected.

menu) determines Sing le Pattern Play (" no rm" o r
" shift&no rm" ) o r Pattern Select Play (" sel&no rm" o r
" sel&shift" ) status.
