RI BBO N Controlle r
The [RIBBO N ] co ntro ller lets yo u co ntro l two different
assig nable parameters as yo u play. Yo u can co ntro l
o ne parameter by sliding yo ur fing er alo ng the X-axis,
and ano ther by applying pressure to the Z-axis. Yo u
can assig n parameters to the [RIBBO N ] co ntro ller using
the Utility Assig n Co ntro l functio n (see pag e 5 0 ) o r the
Co ntro l Matrix (see pag e 5 1 ).

You can assign different parameters to the [ RIBBON] controller for each voice. For
information, see page 7 5 .
To activate the Z-axis you must apply considerable pressure. A light touch will only
apply to the X-axis.
When you release your finger from the [ RIBBON] controller, the value may remain
at the same position as at the time of release, or reset to the center position
depending on the Control Matrix setting. ( See page 7 3 .)

each Scene depends o n which KN O B PARAMETER
G RO UP switch is currently selected, indicated by a lit L ED
to the left o f it. Pressing a CO N TRO L kno b (push-switch) o r
turning a kno b will cause its parameter name and value to
display in the L CD.

W hen yo u select a vo ice the [ASSIG N ] switch will
auto matically be selected (unless the [EDIT RO T ARY] switch
is set to SEQ EDIT/ SETUP), which lets yo u access the eig ht
parameters assig ned to the respective CO N TRO L kno bs.

W hen yo u set the [EDIT RO T ARY] switch to the 5 th po sitio n
(SEQ EDIT/ SETUP menu), the CO N TRO L kno bs will be
dedicated to the event parameters o f the vario us steps
(beats) o f the Step Sequencer.
Apply pressure
Z-axis
In this situatio n, no L ED will be lit in the KN O B
PARAMETER G RO UP sectio n, and the name o f the current
step event parameters will appear in the L CD when yo u
turn o r press a kno b.
Simply pressing a KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP switch will
revert the status back to no rmal to ne g enerato r parameter
co ntro l, as will selecting a different Edit menu with the
[EDIT RO T ARY] switch. As lo ng as the [EDIT RO T ARY]
switch is still set to the SEQ EDIT/ SETUP menu, ho wever,
yo u can press the selected KN O B PARAMETER G RO UP
switch ag ain to revert to Step Sequencer co ntro l by the
kno bs (i.e., yo u can to g g le back and fo rth between kno b
parameter co ntro l and step event data edit by pressing the
switch.)

pedals, each o f which can be assig ned to co ntro l o ne o f
many types o f available o n-bo ard and external parameters.

La yer M odes And Porta m ento
O ne o f six L ayer mo des can be assig ned to each vo ice by
pressing the [L AYER] switch, and Po rtamento o n/ o ff status
can be set by pressing the [PO RT AMEN TO ] switch.
