i.LINK Timer
Programming
● Turn on the VCR and the TV (and/or Digital Set
Top Box).
● Set the [VCR/TV/CABLE/DBS] selector on the
Remote to [VCR].
This VCR can perform D-VHS recording of a program
which is timer-programmed on your Integrated HDTV (or
Digital Set Top Box).

1. Load a D-VHS cassette.
2. Set timer program on the Integrated HDTV.
3. Perform timer programming with the channel set to "i.LINK" at the VCR. (
● Set the program start time ahead of the program time, and the program stop time to a slightly later time.
● As for the Integrated HDTV, set the actual program time for timer recording.
NOTES:
● Establish an i.LINK connection between the VCR and Integrated HDTV only.
● When multiple i.LINK devices are connected, the program may not be recorded as assigning of specific i.LINK device for timer
programming is not possible.
● Only "AUTO" and "HS" can be selected for the recording speed.
● Set "LINC" to "AUTO". (

Load a D-VHS cassette
Make sure the record safety tab is intact. If not,
cover the hole with adhesive tape before inserting
the cassette.

Select recording channel (i.LINK input)
On the front panel:
Press [CHANNEL +] or [–] to select "I-1" etc.
On the Remote:
Press [TV/VCR CH +] or [–] to select "I-1" etc.
● Set "LINC" to "AUTO". (
● The [D-VHS] indicator on the front display panel
lights up and the D-VHS recording mode is
enabled.

Set timer program on the Integrated HDTV.
● Confirm that a link has been established between
this VCR and the Integrated HDTV.
● Set the recording speed to "AUTO" if this
option is available.
● For timer programming method, refer to the
manual of the Integrated HDTV.

Engage recording standby mode.
Press [POWER] to turn off the VCR.
● The Integrated HDTV will activate the VCR to
automatically start recording through i.LINK at
the programmed time.
● The VCR may not record a short portion at the
beginning of the program, to ensure full
recording of the program, turn on the VCR
slightly before the programmed time.
● Depending on the Integrated HDTV used, some
controlling (turning on of power, recording etc.)
might be done at the VCR at the same time the
timer program starts. In this case, the programming
procedures stated below are recommended.
