1. Check/drain plug (lowest position)
2. Place a drain pan under the hub, remove the plug,
and allow the oil to drain.
3. Place a drain pan under the brake housing on the
other side of the wheel (Figure 73).
4. Remove the plug from the bottom of the housing
and allow the oil to drain.
5. When all of the oil has drained, install the plug in
the housing.
6. Add approximately 16 oz (0.5 l) of high quality
SAE 85W-140 gear lube to the brake housing and
planetary (with the check plug at the 3 or 9 o'clock
position) until the level is within 1/8 inch of the
check plug on the brake housing and planetary.
Install the plugs.
7. Repeat the procedure on the opposite gear assembly.
Checking the Rear Wheel
Toe-In
Service Interval: Every 1,000 hours—Check the rear
wheel toe-in.
After every 1000 operating hours or annually, check the
rear wheel toe-in.
1. Measure the center-to-center distance (at axle height)
at the front and rear of the steering tires (Figure 75).
The front measurement must be no greater than
0.00"-0.12' less than the rear measurement.

2. To adjust, loosen the clamps at both ends of the tie
rods (Figure 75).
3. Rotate the tie rod end to move the front of the tire
inward or outward.
4. Tighten the tie rod clamps when the adjustment is
correct.
