Turning
Off the
Image
Stabilizer

Canon's optical image stabilizer allows you to obtain steady recordings even at
telephoto. Unlike electronic image stabilizers, it causes no loss in picture quality. There
is no need to turn off the image stabilizer during normal recording. However, the
camcorder tries to compensate for horizontal movements and you may therefore
decide to turn it off during panning. The image stabilizer cannot be turned off in the
Easy Recording mode.
Open
the
menu
and
select
[CAMERA
set
uPI. Select
[IMAGE S. ((ill))],set it
to [OFFI and close
the
menu.
((1))disappears.
OThis function can be assigned to the CSTM KEY (_
53).
0 We recommend turning off the image stabilizer when you mount the
camcorder on a tripod.
OThe image stabilizer is designed to compensate a normal degree of camcorder
shake.
