2.2.4 ZONE SELECT INTERLOCK (ZSI)
The Mpro N type Trip Unit can op onally be equipped with a
system that allows full selec vity independent of the chosen
breaker se ngs. (ZSI)
Zone-selec ve interlocking coordinates breakers so that the
downstream breaker is allowed the rst opportunity to clear a
fault or overload event. ZSI interlocks & coordinates reac ons to
a fault on the short- me (ST), instantaneous (I), and
ground faults (GF) devices.
The Zone Select Interlock (ZSI) func on operates with a group of
series-connected breakers and can only be used when a +24VDC
auxiliary power supply is available.
In cases when more than 4 outgoing breakers need to be
coordinated with one or more mains or incoming breakers the
use of a interconnec on device or mul plier is strongly
recommended. The AEG TIM device (Catalogue number
--TIM1--) can be used for these kind of applica ons. This device
also requires a +24VDC control voltage power supply.
When a ZSI input is received an upstream breaker will not use
the standard ST ZSI and/or GF ZSI delay band and slope se ng.
It will automa cally use a 2nd set of se ngs that the user can
individually set for use when ZSI is ON. When the ZSI input is
cancelled the breaker will revert to it's standard se ng.v
