Installing the Cisco 6100 Thermal Upgrade Kit
Measure Rack Space
When upgrading your system to accommodate dual-port DMT-2 or quad-port flexi ATU-C modules,
you may have to move the hardware components in the rack to accommodate the fan tray. Figure 1
shows the components for a Direct Connect with a POTS splitter configuration when you are using a
Cisco 6100 chassis. The fan tray is installed directly below the Cisco 6100 chassis.

Two people are required to lift the chassis. Grasp the chassis underneath the lower

edge and lift with both hands. To prevent injury, keep your back straight and lift with
your legs, not your back.
