3.2 Components of Reception Section

The reception section consists of tray area, RX drive area, laser scanner area, print area,
Optional recording paper tray, and Optional bypass tray.
Tray area
3.2.1 Tray Area
The tray area consists of the Recording paper tray, Paper empty sensor, and Paper size sen-
sor. The Paper empty sensor determines if the Recording paper tray is empty, and the Paper
size sensors detect the recording paper size.
• Recording paper tray
Tray in which recording paper is loaded. The sizes of paper that can be set are A4, Letter
and Legal (A4, LT & LG). (Refer to Page 2-3.)
• Paper empty sensor
Detects the presence of recording paper in the Recording paper tray. The sensor is
located in the upper part of the tray base. (Refer to Page 6-11.)
• Paper size sensors
One of the three Paper size sensors is turned on by the Paper guide B in the Recording
paper tray and detects the size of paper loaded in the tray.
The sensors are located in the rear of the tray base. (Refer to page 6-11.)
