Set standby mode

If your fax machine is connected to the PSTN, there are two different ways of receiving documents.
Automatic reception
If the line is reserved exclusively for fax operation.
The fax machine switches over to reception as soon as the line rings. The number of rings before the fax
machine is activated can be set (see below).
The fax machine is always activated, even if the call is initiated by a voice partner.
Manual reception
If the line is used primarily for telephone traffic.
The call must be accepted manually; the fax machine is not activated when the line rings. The call must be
accepted manually; the fax machine is not activated when the line rings. The call must be accepted by an
additional telephone. If you wish to transmit a document, you must press the START key of the fax machine.
Ensure that any fax calls can be accepted by means of the external telephone. Pressing the start key
only has an effect if the handset is off-hook.
