(2) Paper jam at the paper feed section
Step
1
Is the actuator of the Paper feed sensor
damaged?

Select SENSOR TEST in the test mode.
(Refer to page 11-20.)
When the paper feed sensor is turned ON,
is the Bit 7 (Upper data) changes.

Is the cable firmly connected between the
paper feed sensor and the HVPS (CN2),
between the HVPS (CN1) and the Mother
PBA (CN2), between the Mother PBA
(CN24) and the Main PBA (CN12) ?

Are any gears in the Feed gear assembly
damaged?

Is the Paper feed roller dirty, damaged or
worn?

When no problem is found in the steps
above, the Drum unit, the Developer as-
sembly, or the PBA's may be defective.
(3) Paper jam at the paper exit section
Step

Is the actuator of the Paper exit sensor
damaged?

Select the SENSOR TEST in the test
mode. (Refer to page 11-20.)
When the paper exit sensor is turned ON,
is the Bit 6 (Upper data) changes.

Is the cable firmly connected between the
Paper exit sensor and the Mother PBA
(CN4), between the Mother PBA (CN25)
and the Main PBA (CN13)?

When no problem is found in the steps
above, the Paper exit sensor or the PBA's
may be defective.

Check points
Replace the Paper feed sensor.
When the data changes, go to step 4.
Insert the cable firmly to the connector.
If any is damaged, replace it.
Clean or replace the Paper feed roller as
needed.
Replace in the order of: Drum unit, Devel-
oper assembly, Main PBA, Mother PBA,
HVPS.
Replace the Paper exit sensor.
When the data changes, go to step 4.
Insert the cable firmly to the connector.
Replace in the order of: Paper exit sensor,
Main PBA, Mother PBA.
