6.3 Connection
Connection of the foundation grounding electrode
No.
1 Remove the screws and clamping plates of the connection terminal
2 Cut the foundation grounding electrode to the correct length
3 Clean the clamping surface of the foundation grounding electrode
4 Place the foundation grounding electrode in the clamp
5 Mount the clamping plates
6 Tighten all screws with the corresponding tightening torque from the table in the comments sec-
tion
7 Measure and write down the value of the earth loop impedance:

Connection of the protective conductor

1 Open the clamp for the protective conductor connection on the equipotential busbar or remove a
connection screw on the equipotential busbar
2 Cut the protective conductor to the correct length
3 Remove the sheath of the protective conductor up to the connection of the cable lug or the wire
end sleeve
4 Select a cable lug or wire end sleeve for the appropriate conductor cross-section
5 Strip the insulation from the cable end so that the remaining insulation extends up to the cable lug
or wire end sleeve
6 Fasten the cable lug or the wire end sleeve correctly to the cable end using a suitable crimping
tool
Note
Follow these instructions when using a cable lug:
• Insert a shrink-on sleeve over the cable lug. The shrink-on sleeve must extend slightly
beyond the insulation of the cable and cover the crimping point of the cable lug.
• Use a suitable tool to heat the shrink-on sleeve.
