The influence on the effectiveness of the sway control must be significantly less than for the
PT1 element.
It is, however, recommended that the best compromise between the effectiveness of the sway
control and the suppression of the relaxation oscillation is determined empirically.
If the parameter is set to zero, the effect of the input shaper will be deactivated.
Note
Only one of the two filters can be activated.
If P38 (PT1 element) is set to values higher than zero, P39 (input shaper) remains deactivated.
6.13

Target generator

A container ship (STS) can be loaded or unloaded semi-automatically using the functionality of
the target generator and semi-automatic mode (SAM). The target generator specifies a target
(next container) for the waterside for each new loading or unloading operation. The user can
enter a saved lane or a user-defined position as a target on the landside. Moreover, the lashing
or waiting position can be approached as an intermediate position.
The requirements, the control signals and the diagnostics are explained in more detail in the
next chapter.

The target generator can only be used with STS cranes. For this purpose, the parameter must
be set as follows: P102 = 1
SAM mode and sway control must be active for the target generator. Moreover, the
USE_EXTERN_TARGETS control bit must not be set.
Use of the target generator only with SAM mode activated
If SAM mode is not activated, no obstacles are observed during travel and collisions may
occur. These can result in severe personal injury or death, as well as damage to the crane or
ship.
Ensure that the system is in SAM mode, that the obstacles were saved correctly, and that the
safety measures are observed.
