An initialization of the internally learned variable blocked regions must be performed when
● the crane has been switched off for an extended period (e.g. 5 minutes)
● the gantry travels so far that it is no longer located above the learned container row
● the boom hoist is not down
● errors occur on any of the position sensors of hoist and trolley
● the variations of the redundancies are too large in the position mapping of the trolley and
hoist
● a container has not been locked or unlocked for 15 minutes
● the bay scanner has detected erroneous values
Danger to life due to failure to observe blocked regions
For reset "LEARN_PROFILE_ON" and "LEARN_PROFILE_RESET" bits, the internally
learned variable blocked regions are retained unchanged and are not updated. If, in this state,
the real container stack is changed as the result of transport operations, the software would
no longer acquire this and collisions resulting from the now faulty height profiles would no
longer be excluded. Accidents resulting in serious injury or death can occur.
If the LEARN_PROFILE_ON and LEARN_PROFILE_RESET bits are reset, you must take the
blocked regions into account in the higher-level control system.

Defining the blocked regions

The clearances to the obstacles can be set as parameters. If a double spreader is used, the
width of the blocked region increases in the landside direction. A distinction is also made with
respect to the operating mode, as blocked regions are observed in the MAN and SAM modes.
As the safety clearances for hoist gear and trolley depend on the operating mode, two blocked
regions are defined. You will find a graphical overview of the effects of the various parameters
in Chapter Forming blocked regions during the learning travel (Page 180).
Note
If the spreader is locked to a container, all fixed and variable blocked regions are increased by
a fixed amount (parameter P108, maximum container height in mm).
If a container is removed, i.e. when both status bits LOCKED_BIT0 and LOCKED_BIT1 are
reset, the blocked region reduces again by P108.
