1.
An admit request is created by the Unity Network device where the admit is
initiated.
2.
The initiating device searches its RWHAT database and determines the ApexPro
master tower IP address.
NOTE
The master tower might not be the ApexPro tower physically connected to
the initiating device (the ApexPro tower associated with a specific CIC Pro
center, for example).
3.
The admit request is sent by the initiating device to the master tower.
NOTE
If the admit fails at any point, the master tower informs the initiating device
of the failure.
1.
The master tower receives the admit request. The request is in the form of a Unity
network protocol packet, which contains the desired unit name, bed name, patient
name, transmitter number, graph location, and age group—as well as an
identification of the initiating device.
2.
The master tower recognizes and begins to process the admit request.
1.
The master tower verifies that the requested transmitter number is not already in
use by another patient.
2.
If the transmitter number IS already in use (TTX not valid), an error response is
sent back to the initiating device and the admit process stops.
3.
If the transmitter number IS not in use (TTX valid), the admit process continues.
1.
The master tower examines the transmitter number (contained in the request sent
by the initiating device) and determines the telemetry system type of the request.
If the transmitter number is between 1 and 960, it belongs to a CDT-LAN system.
If it is between 1000 and 9999, it belongs to an ApexPro system.
2.
The master tower searches its RWHAT database for an available tower/receiver
having the correct telemetry type.
Tower/receiver determination is comprised of either CDT-LAN or ApexPro
admissions:
