Check Operation of Interlock Switches

CAUTION
Do not disconnect safety switches. They are for
the operator's protection. Check the operation of
the interlock switches daily for proper operation.
Replace any malfunctioning switches before op-
erating the machine.
The Groundsmaster 3505--D is equipped with a Stan-
dard Control Module which monitors interlock switch op-
eration. Information on this Module is described in the
Traction Unit Operator's Manual and in the Component
Testing section of this Chapter. Testing of individual in-
terlock switches is included in the Component Testing
section of this Chapter.
Electrical System
NOTE: The machine is equipped with an interlock
switch on the parking brake. The engine will stop if the
traction pedal is depressed with the parking brake en-
gaged.
1. Make sure all bystanders are away from the area of
operation. Keep hands and feet away from rotary decks.
2. With operator on the seat, the engine must not start
with either the PTO switch in the ENGAGE position or
the traction pedal depressed. Correct problem if not op-
erating properly.
3. With operator on the seat, the traction pedal in neu-
tral, the parking brake off and the PTO switch in the DIS-
ENGAGE position, the engine should start. Lift off the
seat and slowly depress traction pedal, the engine
should stop in one to three seconds. Correct problem if
not operating properly.
