4. Tighten:
9 clutch boss nut 1

NOTE:
While holding the clutch boss 2 with the univer-
sal clutch holder 3 , tighten the clutch boss nut.

5. Bend the lock washer tab along a flat side
of the nut.
6. Lubricate:
9 seat plate
9 cushion ring
9 friction plates #1
9 friction plate #2
9 clutch plates
(with the recommended lubricant)
7. Install:
9 seat plate 1
9 cushion ring 2
9 friction plate #2 3
9 clutch plates 4
9 friction plates #1 5
NOTE:
9 Make sure to face the cushion ring 2 toward
as shown illustration, and then install it onto
1
the clutch boss.
9 First, install the seat plate, cushion ring and
then alternate between a clutch plate and a
friction plate.
8. Install:

9 clutch springs
9 clutch pressure plate 1
9 clutch pressure plate bolts 2
NOTE:
9 Align the punch mark a on the pressure plate
b
with clutch housing mark b .
9 Tighten the clutch pressure plate bolts in
stages and in a crisscross pattern.
9. Adjust:
9 clutch release system
Refer to "ADJUSTING THE CLUTCH
RELEASE SYSTEM" in chapter 3.
