REMOVING THE ENGINE

REMOVING THE ENGINE
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the engine in order
to remove the following components.
9 Cylinder head
9 Cylinder
9 Piston
9 Clutch
9 Shift shaft
9 Oil pump
9 Generator
9 Starter clutch
1. Remove:
9 side cowlings (left and right)
9 front cowling
9 center panels (upper and lower)
9 rear cowlings (left and right)
Refer to "COVERS" in chapter 3.
9 drive sprocket
Refer to "DRIVE CHAIN AND SPROCK-
ETS" in chapter 7.

COOLING SYSTEM

1. Drain:
9 coolant
(completely from the water jacket)
Refer to "CHANGING THE COOLANT" in
chapter 3.
2. Remove:
9 radiator assembly
9 water pump assembly
Refer to "RADIATOR" and "WATER PUMP"
in chapter 5.

ENGINE OIL

1. Drain:
9 engine oil
(completely from the crankcase)
Refer to "CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL" in
chapter 3.

CARBURETOR

1. Remove:
9 carburetor assembly
Refer to "CARBURETOR" in chapter 6.
