Connecting Input Power using the Energy Pack

To connect power to the Controller through the Energy Pack, refer to the PACSystems RXi
Energy Pack ICRXIACCEPK01A Quick Start Guide, GFK-2835.
2.4.2

Connecting the RXi Controller Directly to 24Vdc Input Power

For details on the operation of non-volatile memory, refer to Section 5.6, Flash Memory
Operation and Section 5.7, Logic/Configuration Source and CPU Operating Mode at Power-
up.
You will need:
An 18–30Vdc, 36W (minimum) power supply. The power supply must be either:
A power cord with 18 AWG wires (0.82mm
Ferrules for 18 AWG wires (optional)
A frame ground wire, 18 AWG (0.82mm
An input power terminal block – provided (Weidmüller part number 1748010000.)

or
When operating the RXi Controller without an Energy Pack,
volatile user data will not be backed up on loss of power. In
this case, we recommend that you take steps to avoid loss
of data, such as storing your data to the Controller's non-
volatile flash memory or using an uninterruptible power
supply (UPS).
A UL Listed (or equivalent) Limited Power Source (LPS) or Class 2 power source
capable of providing 18–30Vdc, 36W minimum
or
A low voltage/limited current (LVLC) power source (the combination of an isolated
DC supply and a fuse, listed 30Vdc minimum and 3A maximum, connected in series
with the output of the power supply).
