Operation
Driving with speed control M
When driving, press the switch [D]
Î
3 The forward speed selected at this point (but not
top speed) is maintained.
3 You can take your foot off the accelerator pedal.
To switch the speed control off, press the brake
Î
pedal [A]/accelerator pedal [B] until the switch is
released.
Stopping the device M
Take your foot off the accelerator [B] or. [C].
Î
Step on the brake pedal [A] until the device
Î
comes to a stop.
Note
When you step on the brake pedal, you
automatically switch the speed control off at
the same time.
Switching the cutter deck on/off
(depending on the model)
The PTO switch actuates an mechanical clutch to
switch ON and OFF the cutters.
To switch the cutter deck on, pull the PTO
Î
switch
.
To switch the cutter deck off, press the PTO
Î
switch
.
Note on the PTO switch
In the case of automatic shutdown through
the safety locking system (e.g. reversing
with the cutting mechanism activated), first
switch the switch off, and then back on
again, to release the clutch lock.
Setting the cutting height I
To set the cutting height, press the cutting height
Î
adjustment lever [3].
Transport position:
The lever is in the top position "T". The lever is
Î
locked in this position.
Cutter deck removal/installation position:
The locking pin [2] is in the position "
Î
This secures the cutting height adjustment lever
located under the locking pin.
Mowing position:
The locking pin [2] is in the holes with the mark-
Î
ings "1" to "4". The cutting height adjustment lever
is above it latched in on the locking pin.

Note
After insertion, the locking pin must be
turned downwards so that it cannot come
loose from the pegging hole of its own ac-
cord. In "Mowing position", the locking pin
must always be located underneath the
cutting height adjustment lever, and the lever
must be correctly latched in on the locking
pin.
Note
The "transport position" and Removal/instal-
lation position" must not be used for mow-
ing, because the cutter deck's V-belt can
become damaged as a result.
Press the knob [1] on the cutting height adjust-
Î
ment lever 1 and pull the lever right up 2 until it
locks into the transport position "T".
Select the cutting height by inserting the locking
Î
pin [2] in a hole of the locking plate 3 .
Note
Each hole shifts the cutter deck by approx.
6.4 mm. The lowest cutting height is around
3.2 cm; and the largest around 10 cm.
Press the knob [1] on the cutting height adjust-
Î
ment lever and lower the lever downwards into the
required position 1 .
Release the knob 2 .
Î
3 The cutting height adjustment lever latches in on
the locking pin.
Mowing
Items flung out (cut grass, stones, etc.)
ÂRisk of injury
¾ Only empty the grass catcher when the
cutters are switched off.
¾ Only operate the device with the
discharge flap or grass catcher attached.
Attention !
¾ If the cutters come into contact with a foreign
body (e.g. a stone), or if the device starts
to vibrate unusually, switch the engine off
immediately.
¾ Check the device for damage before continuing
operation. In the event of damage, discontinue
use of the device and have it repaired by
a service centre prior to putting back into
operation.
¾ Do not activate the cutter deck in high grass.
