    Configuring/address space 4.2 Pulse width modulation PWM mode 4.2.1.6 Dithering The dither function is specially designed for control of proportional valves. The dither function superimposes an adjustable symmetrical variation on the setpoint for control of the valve solenoid. This results in a minimal motion around the set position and prevents the valve from sticking due to stiction or hysteresis effect.

The measured value of the current is returned as an S7 analog value in the MEASURED_CURRENT value in the feedback interface (Page 58).

Thermal effects are automatically regulated out. The setpoint of the current is specified by the user program. The module controls the duty cycle of the PWM signal according to the setpoint and the reaction depends on the PID parameters.
