Using Bluetooth
Communication
Expansion CompactFlash card required
Using an optional Bluetooth USB adaptor
images sent wirelessly from Bluetooth-compatible devices
such as mobile phones. The same print services that are
available when printing from a memory card are also
available when sending images via Bluetooth
communication.

The following preparations are necessary in order to use
Bluetooth communication for printing.
• Insert an expansion CompactFlash card
Make sure that an expansion CompactFlash card is
inserted in the expansion CompactFlash slot at the top of
the unit.
• Insert a Bluetooth USB adapter (sold separately)
Insert a Bluetooth USB adapter into the USB port (host)
at the top of the unit.
Requirements for Bluetooth
Communication
Compatible profiles
This unit supports the following profiles.
• BIP (Basic Imaging Profile)
• OPP (Object Push Profile)
For details on profiles supported by your Bluetooth-
compatible device, refer to the operating instructions for
your device.
What is a profile?
A profile is a set of definitions used for Bluetooth
communication. There are a number of different profiles
that are used, depending on the purpose and specific
characteristics of the devices involved. To communicate
via Bluetooth, both devices must support a common
profile.

System Settings

Beep Setting

Determines whether a beep is heard while performing
operations or when an error occurs.
To turn the beep on or off, touch the [ON] or [OFF] button
under [Beep] on the System tab of the administration
screen.
Options while Using Commercially
Available Wireless Devices
Expansion CompactFlash card required
Using an optional wireless adaptor
from a digital camera with built-in wireless functions
through camera operations. For details on settings and
operations for the wireless adaptor, refer to the operating
instructions for your wireless adaptor.

You can also configure how the images are processed after
they are sent. The following options are available for
selection under [Network Option].
(Print image)
Print the sent images. After printing is finished, the sent
images will be deleted from the expansion
CompactFlash card.
(Print and save image)
Print the sent images and store them on the expansion
CompactFlash card. Stored images can be printed from
the Save folder.
