7.3.2.2
Connect another charger
The charger can also be a power supply converting another voltage level to nominal 12 Vdc. The nominal 12
Vdc level must be between 14.5 Vdc to 15.5 Vdc to charge the battery and provide a voltage value that is
safe for the device.
To connect the charging power supply:
Reinsert the CHRG connector wired to the charging power supply to the CHRG terminal on the XFC
(J5) or XRC
G5
(J17).
If powering with an external power supply, follow the procedure in this section.
The XFC
G5
and XRC
G5
are 12 Vdc nominal powered devices. The voltage range from an external supply
must be 12Vdc to 14Vdc.
NOTICE – Equipment damage: A battery cannot be used when the XFC
external power mode.
To connect the external power supply:
Review the manufacturer's instruction supplied with the external power supply.
Connect the external power supply cable to the BATT connector as shown below. Observe
the polarity (+ and -).
IMPORTANT NOTE: Connections to the BATT connector require a special cable adapter. The
adapter should be available.

Confirm that the XFC
information scrolling on the LCD (see details in section
time).
If LCD does not display the power-on sequence, try adjusting the contrast. Refer to section
10.6 Adjust the LCD
If the power-on sequence fails to initiate or complete, see section
