The SO2R Tab permits configuring MK2R/MK2R+ to accept the signals are used by each program to
select transmit and headphone focus and the way MK2R/MK2R+ responds to those inputs.
Computer AUTO Control:
MK2R can be switched to AUTO TX Focus mode and AUTO headphone switching mode. In these modes
both transmit and receive focus (selection) is under software control. MK2R provides two ways for the
application to control focus. The traditional way is by using a parallel (LPT) port – the "CT/NA standard" -
or serial port handshake signals. The second way uses microHAM command protocol via a virtual port.
Note: the microHAM protocol is under refinement in conjunction with the authors of most of the leading
contest logging packages. Software developers who would like to implement native control of the MK2R
and MK2R+ should contact OM7ZZ@microham.com.
CLASSIC AUTO CONTROL is flexible tool for customizing MK2R for operation with current software.
There are four (4) parameters which can be controlled via LPT or virtual port signals.
1. TX focus: Used for automatic selection of which transceiver will transmit.
Available signals are:
LPT pin 3
LPT pin 14
COM port RTS signal
COM port DTR signal
Two PTTs
Each signal can be inverted if necessary. The state of the signal is represented by a RED arrow.
Two PTTs is a special setting that allows MK2R to derive transmit (and receive) focus from separate PTT
signals from logging programs that have only serial ports but provide a separate PTT signal for each radio
on the radio control ports (or when using two instances of MMTTY with two radios). Note: "Two PTTs"
cannot be used if PTT steering is enabled on the Ports tab.
2. RX Focus: Used for automatic headphone "priority" switching when both radios are in receive.
Available signals are:
LPT pin 4
COM port RTS signal
COM port DTR signal
Follow TX Focus
