Accessing Data on EtherNet/IP™

Similar to DeviceNet an Electronic Data Sheet (EDS) is describes the features of an EtherNet/IP™ device and is used by
soft¬ware tools for device and network connection configuration. The latest EDS file can always be downloaded from the ABB
website: www.abb.com
→ Products → Low Voltage Products and Systems → Automation, control and protection → Motor controllers → Universal Motor Con-
trollers → Ethernet Interfaces
The EIU32.0 allows concurrent communication with up to four EtherNet/IP™ clients (e.g. PLCs). Please note the following points:
• Only one of the connected devices can be the Exclusive Owner.
• All other connections have to be Listen-Only or Input-Only.
• In case several EIU32.0 are connected in a line, each of the devices can have a different Exclusive Owner.
• All connections that shall be used in parallel must be configured as "multicast connections".
• All connections that shall be used in parallel must be configured with the same RPI (Requested Packet Interval).
For more information about integrating the UMC in an EtherNet/IP™ network please refer to the EIU32.0 manual.

Accessing Data on PROFIBUS / PROFINET

On PROFIBUS/PROFINET the device parameters, monitoring data, diagnosis and command data is described in the GSD file.
Device parameters are transferred during bus start or UMC start from the bus master to the UMC. See also the sections
"Configuring the Fieldbus Configuration" and "Commissioning->Configuration from within the control system". For more information
about integrating the UMC in a PROFIBUS network please refer to the PDP32.0 (PROFIBUS communication interface) technical ma-
nual. For more information about integrating the UMC in a PROFINET IO network please refer to the PNQ22 (PROFINET IO communi-
cation interface) technical manual.
For PROFIBUS bus masters with limited capability set parameter "I/O Data Profile" to profile 2. The module is part
of the GSD ABB334e0.gsd
DTM and system integration packages are only available for profile 1

Accessing Data on Modbus / ModbusTCP

On Modbus/ModbusTCP data is provided in so-called registers. A Modbus/ModbusTCP master can read and write data on these
registers. For more information about integrating the UMC in a Modbus network please refer to the MRP31 (Modbus communica-
tion interface) technical manual. For more information about integrating the UMC in a ModbusTCP network please refer to the
MTQ22 (ModbusTCP communication interface) technical manual.

Accessing Data on DeviceNet

On DeviceNet the device parameters, monitoring data and the command data size is described in the EDS file. Monitoring, com-
mand and diagnosis data is mapped to the data telegrams which are cyclically exchanged between the DeviceNet master and the
UMC. For more information about device parameterisation in DeviceNet networks please refer to the DNP31 (DeviceNet communi-
cation interface) technical manual.
For busmasters with limited capability set parameter "I/O Data Profile" to profile 2 and use EDS file "ABB_UMC100_
R0101_Profile2.eds"
