Connecting the RCP to a Hub or Switch

The RCP is connected to a hub or switch if more than one DS-4 Device Server is used, if
more than one RCP is used, or if the cameras are installed further than approximately
300 feet from the RCP.
A standard Ethernet cable is used to connect the RCP to the hub or switch.
Refer to the documentation for the hub or switch for information concerning
the type of cable and connections that are followed when connecting the
RCP to the hub or switch.
If you have questions concerning the components that are required for a
particular installation, contact your Telemetrics representative.
1.
Connect one end of one Ethernet cable to the main Ethernet connection on
the RCP (Figure 13), and connect the other end of the cable to the input port
of the hub or switch.
2.
Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the input port of the hub or
switch.
