Disengage the optical cable from the Fiber Fish tool and attach to the appropriate
connector on the desired module.

Cable Routing - Prisma XD Chassis

Feed each fiber through the fiber tray located beneath the Prisma XD Chassis. The
fiber tray slides in and out to facilitate routing.

To Connect Optical Cables to Module

Important: Observe laser safety precautions. See Laser Safety information earlier in
this guide.
Note: This procedure assumes that the chassis is mounted in a rack and that fiber
optic cable has been run to the chassis front panel.
CAUTION:
The OPM is sensitive to electrostatic discharge. Always use an ESD strap or
similar individual grounding device when handling or coming into contact
with these modules.
CAUTION:
Removing and installing the OPM can shorten its useful life. Do not remove
and insert the OPM more often than absolutely necessary.

Select the appropriate OPM for the transmitter from the list provided in the
Cisco EDR System data sheet.

Remove the dust plugs from the OPM and save them for possible future use.

Line up the OPM with the connector on the side of the transmitter as shown
below, and slide the OPM into the connector until it clicks into place.
