Chapter 1 Module Introduction

Prisma II Chassis Host Module

A standard Prisma II Chassis host module is required to mount high density
application modules in a standard Prisma II Chassis. The host module doubles the
density of the Prisma II Chassis by providing two high density module slots for each
current Prisma II slot. Its simple design allows for efficient routing of RF and
electrical signal between the chassis back plane and each high density module.
For the Prisma II EDR Transmitter with Integrated Transmitter Host Module, the
chassis accepts two double-wide EDR Transmitter modules. This host module
occupies two adjacent application slots in the Prisma II chassis.

Host Module Features

The Prisma II Chassis host module has the following features:
Provides upper and lower slots for two high density modules
Incorporates a passive design for high reliability
Provides for RF and DC routing between the chassis back plane and each high
density module
